What Is The Cause For Knee Pain When On Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream For A Sore On The Leg?

The doctor put my father on Triamcinolone Acetonide cream for his sore on his leg. His knee started to hurt really bad. He washed it off and now is relieved of the pain. ? does this medication do this or is it just coincidence?
He is an amputee from infection in the other leg s/p knee replacement surgery.

Hi and thanks for this query.

This drug is prescribed to control pain and inflammation. It should just be a coincidence that these events happened together. If the pain were on the leg that was amputated, then there should be reasons to evaluate hi for a neuropathic pain.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and feel free to ask for more information if needed.
