Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
40 year old female presents with loin pain, generalized oedema and night sweats of one week duration. Had been treated with IVfluids and IV antibiotics at hospital. No urine infection on specimen. Have done bloods and deranged LFT s (all of them - except bilirubin), anaemia hgb 113, urine pristine no protein. CRP 120.
As I was reading history, I didn't understand about the generalized edema? Because generalized edema is indicative of some other pathology. Also, how is the urine output. If there is a loin pain then the patient must have pathology of the kidney and due to which the generalized edema and night sweats may occur. You need to ask the patient to try passing urine alot but manual force if it's not happening by it's own. In case if there is any trouble with kidneys then urine flow might get reduced and needs an intervention with a catheter to reduce the fluid pressure from the kidneys.
Please consult a good physician and explain him the whole medical history with the discharge summary.
As for loin pain we can have a simple workout but for generalized edema we may have to be conscious.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
