What Is The Cause For Nausea And Cramps On The Uterus After Breastfeeding?
Hi, I have nine months breastfeeding and haven't gotten my period since my six week postpartum, lately I've been feeling cramps on my uterus and I feel movement, like a pulse. I also feel nausea but I went to my clinic to do a pregnacy test but it came out negative. What could be the cause of what I'm feeling?
Hi, Thanks for the query. During lactation because of hormonal fluctuations amenorrhea can be seen in some women. If you are not using any contraceptive method possibility of pregnancy is there. As your urine pregnancy test is negative, the possibility of pregnancy is less. But sometimes urine pregnancy test kit may not detect early pregnancy. So, better to go for ultrasound. Ultrasound helps in ruling out the possibility of pregnancy. And also helps in detecting any other abnormalities in uterus or ovaries etc. If no abnormality is detected, no need to worry. You can take symptomatic treatment. Continuously thinking about pregnancy can lead to symptoms mimicking pregnancy, which is called spurious pregnancy. Ultrasound helps in avoiding this thought. Take care.
