What Is The Cause For Tiredness When On Loratab?

My husband took a 1/4 of a loratab last night about 8pm to help ward off a migraine. He has now been tired, swimmy headed and just does not feel like he is himself. Should I be worried that he is having an allergic reaction and take him to the hospital or let him rest it off?

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi there,

Thanks for your query.

Few people are unduly sensitive to a particular drug. If your husband has taken Loratab for the first time, the symptoms are apparently due to hypersensitivity to the drug. If he has taken and tolerated Loratab in the past, there has to be a different cause, which needs to be evaluated.

In the former case, let him sleep off the symptoms which will disappear within 12-24 hours.

If you find my response helpful and informative, do not forget an “excellent” (5-star rating) to my answer, to ENCOURAGE ALL doctors- engaged in social service- to render sound advice to the FREE queries.

Take care
