Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 3 year old son was diagnosed with bronchitis yesterday. At the time, he had very red cheeks that came on suddenly. He was prescribed Azithromycin and has taken one dose. Today, his red cheeks have turned into a slightly raised rash I can feel when I touch it. Is it possible to get a facial rash with bronchitis, or could this be a reaction to his medication?
Respiratory problem with red rash on cheeks is more suggestive of any atopy(allergic disorder). Antiallergic(like levocetrizine) with bronchodilator(like sabutamol) helps. If there is similar past history or history of allergic disorder in family, long term medication(like montelukast) may be needed. I would suggest you to consult your pediatrician for proper evaluation and management accordingly.
