What Is The Cause Of Ear Pain, Swollen Jaw And Pain When Touched?

On the right side, I have a severe earache, with slight drainage, my jaw is swollen and slightly painful when trying to bite down(teeth do not meet on this side, due to swelling?), also a bit of heat to the touch in the swollen area of jaw. This is recurring for me, maybe once a month or every other month for the past year. The last time I saw my dr., she suggested it was TMJ because when she tugged on my ear, it didn t hurt. But I still had earpain... I am diabetic, if that helps any.

Hi,
As you have severe ear ache with drainage indicates you might be having acute ear infection.
Swelling might be due to infection in ear.
Go for one antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medicine course.
Put antibiotic ear drops.
Ok and take care.
