What Is The Cause Of Fingerheads Being Yellow ?

I was sick a little over a month ago. My glands were swollen, but never went back to normal. Touching them kinda hurts. I ve also had yellow fingernails for months. Since around Christmas actually. The entire nail is yellow. It looks like they ve been colored by a highlighter. Do you have any idea what could be wrong?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Having yellow finger nails is indicative for:
- yellow nail syndrome
- fungal infection
- psoriasis or other auto-immune diseases

I suggest to get your nails checked by dermatologist and to run the following tests to rule out pathologies:
- nail scrub testing with 10%KOH to exclude fungal infection
- liver/kidney function tests
- cardiac tests

Depending on the tests results, specific treatment will be prescribed.

Hope it helped!
