What Is The Cause Of Metallic Taste In Mouth After Zinc Levels Are Normal And Being On Gluten Free Diet?
I have had a metallic taste in my mouth for over 8 months. I had blood work done which indicated I have celiacs. An endoscopy confirmed. I have been on a gluten free diet for 6 months and I still have this metallic taste. Additional blood work showed zinc is fine. What should be my next step to determine what the cause of this taste is?

Altered taste sensation could also be due to nutritional deficiency like Vitamin B2 that is Riboflavin deficiency. Taking nutritional supplements of the same will be helpful. If the problem persists then do consult your Physician for further assessment.
Take care Best Regards Dr Deepak Kishore
