What Is The Cause Of Pain In Head And Neck?

In the last few days, the back of my head and neck have been really hurting. I have experienced similar feelings off and on before but it has never been this severe. It s not crippling, but it is difficult to bear. My neck is also really stiff. The type of pain is a soreness with a lot of pressure, but it can also be throbbing at times. I also have a headache in general. It is in the front, back, and both sides. The onset of this pain was sudden, but it is constantly and consistently getting worse. At this point, it hurts to even move slightly because the pain increases dramatically when I move my head or neck. I have also been feeling sick, fatigued, and achy in general. What could be happening?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
From history it seems that if you are elderly then might be due to irritation and pinched nerve problem due to degenerative changes in your cervical spine.
There might be having osteoporosis giving rise generalized, pain, fatigue and feeling of sick.
Go for x-ray cervical spines.
Consult orthopedic surgeon and get examined.
Physiotherapy, short way diathermy and cervical traction will be of much helpful.
Ok and take care.
I find this answer helpful
