What Is The Cause Of Pain In The Abdomen During A Bowel Movement?

I have been getting very sharp pains in my abdominal area (left side - mid area between waist and hip - in front). The pain usually takes place when I get up from the commode after having sat there for a while (5 or 10 minutes) trying to have a bowel movement.

This happens in case of Colitis or IBS- Irritable Bowel Syndrome. You may have to take a course of an antibiotic, metronidazole, probiotics and supportive symptomatic treatment for 5 days. If there is no result I would advise you to undergo Colonoscopy and CT scan of the abdomen to see that you do not Have gastrointestinal Cancer.
