What Is The Cause Of Painful And Pus-filled Lumps In Groin?
Hi, The other day I noticed 5-6 small lumps in my groin area. Originally I thought they ingrown hairs as I get them every now and then. But the last couple of days the whole area feels like it's inflamed and "solid" to touch. Very painful. I was able to get some liquid out (pus and blood) but only a very small amount. Now it's starting to look like a rash down my leg as well and little pimples are coming up that I need to squeeze.
As per your query it seems to be bacterial or fungal infection. It is mostly due to unhygienic condition of the groin area. Ointments like Trioderm or terbiforce plus can be used which contain both antibacterial and antifungal medicines. Oral Antibiotic like cefexime/ciprofloxacin with analgesic can be taken. There is chance of abscess as you described it as Solid to touch, and it should be drained by a surgeon if oral medication fails. Keep the affected area clean and dry.
