What Is The Cause Of Swelling In The Nasal Area After Shot By Gun In The Nose?

My sister shot her gun while hunting, and the scope kicked back into her nose. She had bad bleeding from the cut and also a bad nose bleed. Now she has bad swelling in the nasal area and has a real bad headache and is sleeping all the time. Do I need to take her to the ER?

Thanks for your query. I have gone through your query.
The swelling near the nose can be secondary to post inflammatory reaction secondary to trauma or because of the fractured nasal bone. Nothing to be panic, consult an oral physician or ENT surgeon and get it evaluated. You may have to take a radiograph to confirm the diagnosis. Mean while you can take analgesic with antiinflammatory drugs like diclofenac and serratiopeptidase(if you are not allergic). Once the diagnosis is confirmed, we can treat accordingly.
I hope i have answered your query. Take care.
