What Is The Constant Itching Of Scrotum?

My testicles (ball sack) itch all the time. I put jock itch cream on them and the itching goes away but comes back in a few hours. I have done this a little over two weeks and it still occurs. I have no burning during urination and no discharge of the penis. I few days ago some skin was flaking off in the areas that itch.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Constant itching on the scrotum can be due to many reasons. The most common is a dermatitis that is maintained because of the hidden position of the scrotum almost all the time.
The Sweat and its products act like an irritant for the already diseased scrotal skin to cause constant itching which in turn case innumerable small wounds allowing the sweat to work more deeply and one gets secondary infection and fungal infection in some cases.
Jock;' cream just helps by reducing the symptoms, it does not help to cure the disease or remove the cause.
You have no urinary symptoms. And there is flaking of the skin from the scrotal sac.

I would suggest the following in such a situation.
-First of all stop all the creams.
Clean the scrotal skin with lukewarm water and allow it to dry or use hair dryer.
Apply liquid Povidone Iodine locally twice a day till the infection is settled and then stop this too.
Take oral antihistamines to reduce the itching, antibiotics if there is an evidence of infection and oral Flucanozole under the prescription of your local Doctor.
Consult a Dermatologist for proper diagnosis and treatment.
