What Is The Constant Pain And Heaviness In Lungs?

Hello, I'm a 19 year old female.. My lungs ache constantly, and give off a sharp pain when I try to breathe. They feel heavy all the time, like they're full of cement. It gets worse with activity, especially with physical activity. As for my headache, my head pounds. Its really achy all over and causes me nausea. I'm always coughing up flem. I have recently came into contact with several people at work who had pneumonia since I am in retail. Help?

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
By your history and description, we should definitely rule out pneumonia and bronchitis in your case.
Both these diseases cause cough, expectoration, breathing difficulty etc.
So better to consult pulmonologist and get done clinical examination of respiratory system, chest x ray and PFT (Pulmonary Function Test).
Chest x ray is needed for lung infection. PFT is must for the diagnosis of bronchitis.
You may need antibiotic, inhaled bronchodilators (formoterol or salmeterol) and inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) (budesonide or fluticasone).
Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
