What Is The Correct Dosage Of Glipaside For A Diabetic?
my husband is a diabetic his blood sugar is up around 200 an is 310 about 10-15 minutes ago he is scared an so am I he was taking metformin an worked great on him keeping it down around 130 to 146 the doctore changed it to glipaside 5 mill hes taken 3 today hoping it will do down ashortlyhe has been taking 1 a day but it was up over 340 called answering serice for dr an he told my husband he could take up to 4 a day we don t know what to do YYYY@YYYY

I am sorry to hear you have been having difficulties getting your blood sugar previously. I am very happy you are this conscientious because having a well controlled blood sugar is very important in preventing the onset of diabetic complications.
In my opinion metformin is a very good drug and we need to consider stopping metformin if its giving lots of gastric intolerance.
This medication glipizide is a drug which stimulates your pancreas and increases insulin out put from pancreas
by using this kind of drugs pancreas will go into secondary failure and will not respond to drugs in future
So considering this kind of side effects usually we will prefer to use drugs like DPP-4 inhibitors as second line of medication which will preserve your pancreas.
i suggest you to restart metformin along with glipizide or DPP-4 inhibitors
kindly discuss with your doctor for further course of action.
