What Is The Cure For Knee Pain While Bending, Walking And Getting Up?
Hi. I'm having knee pain when bending my knee, as in walking up stairs or getting up from a sitting position. My leg feels like it is weak and if I lift it with my hand from the back to get the movement started, it helps. Mostly the pain is in the back of my knee
You have not mentioned your age and the duration of pain in the description. Your symptoms are typically suggestive of Patello-femoral arthritis (wear and tear in the knee cap).
An xray of the involved joint in Skyline view will help in establishing the diagnosis.
The general treatment guidelines for your condition are as follows- - Avoid deep knee bending activities - Avoid sporting activities - Reduce your body weight, if you are obese - Regular Quadriceps strengthening exercises under the guidance of a physiotherapist - Analgesic medications as needed (advil or aleve) - Daily intake of Glucosamine & chondroitin supplements over a period of 3-4 months will help in reducing the arthritic pains and thereby decreases the necessity to take daily analgesic medications.
Hope this information is helpful. Good day
