What Is The Cure For Skin Peeling On Palm And Sides Of Hands?
I am a 55 yo overweight black female. A few weeks back I noticed my hands starting to peel excessively on the sides and palms and the appearance of a rash on the top. I haven't used any new products. They peel like crazy still but the rash is gone away. Please advise if you can. Thank you
Hi, Thanks for writing to us. This skin peeling could be due to hand eczema like pompholyx or keratolysis exfoliativa. Use a moisturizing cream rich in urea and lactic acid to moisturize the area. Also apply a steroid cream like mometasone twice in a day. In a week or two, your hands should improve. Hope this helped. Take care
It could be due to keratolysis exfolitiva which happens in people who sweat a lot from the palms and soles.
I usually advice my patients to use a good moisturizer twice daily. Mixing moisturizer with a moderately potent steroid will help it resolve faster.
Avoid using soaps as much as possible and it is advisable to apply a moisturizer every time you wash your hands.
take care regards
