What Is The Detoxification Period For Alpha Lipoic Acid In Body?
I suddenly developed a severe skin rash on my hands and arms after taking Alpha Lipoic Acid for about a month. Looks very similar to poison ivy. After process of elimination, I D/C the Alpha Lipoic Acid. I am taking Decadron for the severe rash and itching. How long will it take for the remaining ingested Alapha Lipoic Acid in my body to stop manifesting new rash sites?

The clearance of the alpha lipoic acid from the body depends upon multiple parameters and individual physics, but however, commonly around 7-10 days are an average period. The simultaneous intake of Decadron at this point of time will affect inflammatory response and I would request to discuss the role of Betamethasone against Decadron with your consultant during next scheduled follow up visit.
