What Is The Difference Between Chromium Picolinate And Chromium Polynicotinate?
Is there a difference between Chromium Picolinate and Chromium Polynicotinate? any health risks? I was told that chromium could damage kidneys or be harmful for those who have had kidney damage in the past. Looking at a product that has the chromium polynicotinate...supposedly all naturally sourced.
From your description, I am of the opinion that Chromium is an essential part of our diet that helps in the metabolism of glucose in our body. Chromium polynicotinate is also used for weight loss and management of pre-diabetes. Both compounds that you are referred to are various forms that we can intake. Yes, excess of Chromium can be toxic and cause kidney damage.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ashish Ranjan, General & Family Physician
