What Is The Difference Between Norco 5/325 And MSIR 15?
What is the difference between Norco 5/325 and MSIR 15? I have been on MSIR 15 mg for awhile because of chronic orthopedic pain issues. I suffer with osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia, and have had to have both total shoulders replacement surgery and knee replacement surgery, and fusion on my foot and ankle. I just had carpal tunnel on my Rt hand. He prescribed the Norco 5/325. He knows I see a pain Dr and the medicine I am on. I thought I would just take the Norco and not the MSIR and see if it helps. I try not to take any more than I have to on a regular basis. How strong is Norco compared to MSIR?
Norco 5/325 has a similar potency to Morphine. However, Norco is longer acting than Morphine IR. Norco also has Acetaminophen which also reduces pain and inflammation.
You should not take the two medications together. You can switch to Norco, but do not take Norco and MSIR concurrently to avoid serious side effects.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Lekshmi Rita Venugopal,
