What Is The Difference Between Alopecia Areata And Tinea Capitis?

difference between alopecia areata and tinea capitis? 2 general physicians diagnosed me with ringworm, because of the rash. The rash is not scaly, as shown on the internet pictures. The rash is like pimples. The docs gave me antifungal cream, shampoo and oral antifungal meds, which did not help. Later i was on antibiotics, which help. I finally saw a dermatologist today, he said it is not fungus, it is alopecia areata, and he gave me injections. I insisted he did a scalp biopsy. He did, but I have to wait 2 weeks for the results.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
As per ur history it is easy to tell clinically what is it if you can provide me a photograph of the lesions in detail . Because several dermatology is present in all skin lesions. So if possible do a scarp test of skin and take medication as per diseases directly seen under microscope only.
