Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What are the differences between effexor & Pristiq? I have been taking Pristiq for a month & doing well. My doctor changed my dosage to 100 extended release and now insurance isn't wanting to pay for it. We have been through a peer to peer review, and still denied the Pristiq. I don't want to changed to effexor if I am doing well on Pristiq. Any suggestions? I am currently making calls & rattling cages to get the insurance company to change their mind. Wish me luck.
Other drug is DesVenlafaxine(Pristiq) Desvenlafaxine is a synthetic form of the major active metabolite of venlafaxine this is also used for depression.
Both the molecules are used with success if you are comfortable with one you can use it with consultation of your physician.
We can not comment on policy of insurance company.
Hope this information helps.
Good luck to you. Take care. Dr.A.Dubey M.D.
