What Is The Difference Sets Of Teeth And Immediate Denture?

is it recommended to have a immediate denture then a final one i have been to 2 dentist one gave me quote that included a immediate then final denture 6 months to a year
second dentist said he only does one denture and will realign after 6 months to a year

i dont understand the difference except you would have a back up set of teeth when you have to
have them realigned or worked on

Hi..
Can understand your concern..

As per your complain it is true that there is an immediate denture which is given to patient immediately after extraction if the patient has to undergo multiple extractions of the teeth..

It is also given to patients who are wearing denture for the first time so that the oral tissues adjust to it as after extraction as well as for the first time wearers there is changes in the oral tissues and the underlying bone and it takes time for the tissues to adjust and adapt to the denture.

At times there is resorption and shrinkage to the underlying bone leading to loosening of the denture..

Therefore once the patient is adjusted and the changes takes place a final denture is given for more improved fit and comfort.

A single denture can also be relined at a later stage but a new denture is a better option..

Hope your query is solved..
