What Is The Dosage Of Docusate Sodium For Constipation In Children?
Hi my son who is a big 11yr old and 10 months suffers from constipation. He puts on weight easily and I have him on a regulated healthy diet which he follows 80per cent of the time. My doctor recommended Ducosate sodium 120mg one once a day. He s been on it 3 days but it doesn t seem to be working. Should he be on 2 tablets daily as he s neatly 12 and this is a 3 month course. Docusate sodium can be given upto 150 mg per day in 12 yrs old children.
Instead of giving 2 tablets, you can try giving rectal suppository or enema for once and later you can resume oral preparation..
Try adding more fibre in his diet to relieve him of constipation..
