I just received my prescription in the mail and itis called Nifedipine ER Osmotic 60 mg and diections to take once a day. It was supposed to be the same as my expiring prescription for Nifedipine ER 60mg which I took twice a day....I in AM and 1 in PM Did my doctor call in the wrong prescription or did the pharmacy supply the wrong item?
Hello, This is Dr. Klarida Papaqako answering your question.
Nifedipine ER (Extended release) Osmotic 60 mg is the same medicine as Nifedipine ER 60mg. If you need to take it twice a day, or once a day, depends if your doctor decided to change the prescription because your blood pressure is better and you need a lower dose, or he/ the pharmacist did a mistake.
I would recommend to call either of them, or mail back so you figure our why this decision.
Take care.
