What Is The Dosage Of R Cinex And Benadon Tablets For The Treatment Of TB?
Dear Sir, I would like to ask that, My close relative has got TB and doctor suggested to take R Cinex 600 tablets. Kindly suggest that when this tablets to be taken (morning before food or after food) and how long it should be continued.
Is their any other tablets to be taken along with this or not. Doctor have given Benadon tablets, whether this to be taken when. Kindly suggest

Thanks for your query.
If he is a new case, he must start with four drug combination i.e isoniazide, rifampicin, pyrazinamide and ethambutol for first two months followed by Isoniazide and rifampicin for another 4 months.
Rcinex contains only two of the above i.e isoniazide and rifampicin. Which is to be taken after the first two months of intensive phase containing the 4 drugs stated above.
You must have clarified the situation whether it is starting of the treatment or if he has taken the treatment for first two months.
Treatment is inadequate if it is started without pyrazinamide and ethambutol.
Dose depends on the body weight, isoniazide being 4-6 mg/kg and rifampicin being 8-10 mg/kg.
Benadon is usually not needed but can be given in the case of diabetes, pregnancy, kidney failure, alcoholic patient, seizure disorders etc to supplement Vit.
