Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi Doctor, My 3 year old kid(13kgs weight) has an ear pain, so doctor suggested Taxim-O 15g/30ml syrup 6ml twice a day so a total of 12ml per day. So just wanted to know if this is the right dosage as here in this site i read 8mg/kg/day which will be just 5ml per day. Pls clarify me the right dosage.
For children, 6 months to 12 years of age dose is based on body weight and must be determined by your doctor.
Its correct dose is 8 milligrams (mg) per kilogram (kg) of body weight per day, taken as a single dose or divided in two doses (4 mg/kg of body weight every 12 hours).
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
