What Is The Dosage Of Wellbutrin For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder?

I was prescribed 100 mg of Zoloft 2 weeks ago for PMDD. I was having side effects (sexual and constantly tired) so my Gyno is switching me to 150 mg of Wellbutrin. When should I start taking it? I took Zoloft at night about an hour or so before bed. Thank you!

Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. Zoloft is Sertraline and the drug is a SSRI drug. The drug helps to improve the mood in PMDD (Premenstrual dysphoric disorder) and thus results in improvement. But as the drug is a SSRI drug it is associated with sexual side effects. Wellbutrin is Bupropion and the drug has different actions than Zoloft. The drug can be used in high doses without any risk of sexual side effects. In most of individuals the drug should be started with doses of 150 mg extended release tablet per day which can be increased to 300-450 mg per day. The drug is not associated with sedation so can be taken in either morning times or in evening times. The drug is found to be effective in controlling low mood due to PMDD. Please take the drug as per your prescription and as per advise of your doctor.

Thanks, Hope this helps you. Take care
