What Is The Healing Period To Start Excercise Post Umbilical Hernia Surgery?
Hi.I had a umbilical hernia surgery 14 days ago.My hernia was 5x5mm, which the doc just sutured with prolene 2-0,First question: I am an ahtlete, so i wonder when i can exercise again?I dont have any pain at all, and the woun has healed fine.Last question: Will my linea alba now grow together with collagene fibres? or will it forever be the suture which will prevent the hernia to come back?

Hi,
Now you may start just walking and light movements. You need more time 4 to 6 weeks to start more strenuous activities. The Prolene sutures used for hernia repairing is not absorb-able and will remain there forever reducing chances of hernia repeating.
