What Is The Indication Of Sore Throat, Difficulty In Swallowing And Rash On The Lips?
Good morning. Strep and Scarlet Fever have recently been diagnosed in my son s school. He had a cold last week and is now well. I now have a mild sore throat that hurts up into my ears when I swallow. I ve also developed this odd raw chapping/rash on the inside of my lips. It s just red, no bumps or lesions. I have never had a cold sore in my life. This concerns me. Should I see my general physician? I have chronic asthma and use a steroid inhaler almost daily. No other meds.
I have gone through your query regarding sore throat, difficulty in swallowing and you are a chronic patient of bronchial asthma. Recently your son had recovered from strep and scarlet fever.
Here I would like to tell you no doubt your symptoms are very much similar to viral respiratory tract infection. You may do-
1- Culture and sensitivity of throat swab.
2- Throat swab for gram's staining.
It will be better to consult your physician for thorough examination and treatment.
Regards.
