Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Is The Interpretation Based On This Chest X-ray Report?
My husband had a chest xray for pneumonia. There are the results and now we need a CT scan. What do these results means: FINDINGS: Heart and mediastinum appear normal. There is fullness within the left hilum. Right hilum is normal. There are subtle opacities present within the left upper lobe inferiorly. Differential considerations for the findings present would include mass and/or adenopathy within the left hilum with associated postobstructive pneumonitis. Alternatively a pneumonic process in the left upper lobe with extension to the left hilum is also considered. Lungs otherwise are clear. No pleural effusion or pneumothorax. Apical pleural scarring is present. Thank you.
hi i am dr usman. your concern is genuine. All the findings of chest xray refer to an ongoing infective process. pneumonia is the infection of lungs, you need to get him properly evaluated along with some basic laboratory investigations to confirm an infective.later followed by antibiotics. thanks
