What Is The Life Expectancy After The Removal Of Feeding Tube?

My mom is 80 years old, broke her hip, and went through surgery. She did not pull out of surgery. She is in Hospice right now and we have removed her feeding tube as of Saturday 9/1/12. What is the life expectancy after the tube has been removed? She is very thin already, maybe 110 pounds.

HI
Thanks for posting your query to Healthcaremagic.

Body can derive energy even from muscles. You have not mentioned her other condition like her Blood pressure , Heart rate , Urine production , her recent blood reports , these will help me in giving a better estimate of survival time .

Without these ( Considering these to be in normal range ) , just being without food an 80 year old lady can make it upto 2-4 weeks .

Hope this information was useful to you.
Any clarifications feel free to ask .
