Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Is The Life Expectancy Of A Patient Suffering From CABG?
What is the life expectancy of a 72 yr old male after CABG and aortic valve replacement. He also has (under control) diabetes. Two weeks before this operation he had pneumonia and had to get under water drain to remove 2 lt of fluid from left lung. Thanks!
If he has his diabetes and blood pressure under control, has been observing the dietary restrictions, taking his cardiac drugs like blood thinners and anticholesterol drugs regularly, he has a good life expectancy of at least 10 to 15 years, as all stable CABG patients.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. AJEET SINGH, General & Family Physician
