What Is The Life Expectancy Of A Person With Heart Working At 10%?

My mom s heart is only working at 10% the doctors and she agreed to take her off all of her medications as of yesterday and they are only making her comfortable. She is receiving oxygen and having excess fluid drained because her legs and feet are swollen she also has kidney issues and diabeties she will be sent home next week and have a hospice nurse and a clinical nurse take care of her at home. How long do you think she will be able to live in this condition with no meds?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Really sorry to hear of her condition. In fact, it's very difficult tons ay exactly how much she would be surviving but in such conditions, it's generally not too long. Maybe weeks to months but can be even shorter. Even if medicines are not stopped still the survival is not good. So this is best to keep her comfortable.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman,
