What Is The Life Expectancy Of Patient With Emphysema?

ok I smoked for almost 30 years i quit i was diaganoised with mild to moderate emphysema I also worked in a cotton mill in the late 80s and early 90s i am having more shortness of breath I have cheated a few times and smoked a few cig here and there do you think i was exposed to asbestos in the cotton mill and are developing mesothelomia and what is the average life span with emphysema

You have emphysema and smoking since 30 years ...
You are working in cotton mil so bysinosis like occupational restrictive lung disease chance also there ...

Investigation needed with ....
1.Auscultation
2.Chest x ray
3.Spirometry etc.

Spirometry help in assess severity and subsequent management ...
And that will decide prognosis also

If needed ipratropium like bronchodilator inhaler also prescribed ...

Avoid smoking

Graduated exercise pulmonary rehabilitation useful....

Advise : Consult pulmonologist for examination...
