What Is The Life Expectancy Of Someone With 12% Ejection Fraction?

hello, back in 9/13/2013, had a heart attack, as a result my left ventricular @ 12% ejection fraction. After a difibulater and one of my blood thinner uses of effient...my question I stopped taking effient for 2 weeks now, my present cardiologist told me it would be up to me to decide that, seeing my last stent was in 1/1/2016...Im feeling maybe i should start again taking effient again, til I get a second opinion , rather than making this choice alone, what is your opinion ?

Hi,

In fact, if you have a heart attack then you should continue taking this drug. Especially, if you have stent then it is quite necessary. It may have side effects but the benefits here clearly outweigh the risks. If you have no bleeding then you should continue it until there is a reason not to do so.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman,
