What Is The Lump At The Back Of My Neck?

I have a lump about 1 inch below my skull on both sides, and about 2 inches from the spine, it was not there 2-days ago, and has come and gone a few times over the years. Should I be worried, or is this just a passing infection of some gland or the other that the body will fix on its own.?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi
Welcome to hcm
Those are lymph node enlarged some times due to infection or may be nonspecific. No treatment is required unless they are increasing in size or other problem like weight loss , fever, or any abscess formation. You can just observe them at present.
