What Is The Maximum Recommended Dosage Of Zoloft?

what is the highest dosage of Zoloft one can take? I have been on 200 mg. for years and it has worked. now it isn t working. I have been prescribed other antidepressants before finding this one and had terrible side effects. I m wary of other drugs. I m 69 yr old and first had postpartum depression after my 2nd child was born. it runs in my family, 2 suicides. Zoloft has saved me along with being therapized to death. I am wondering if my dr. can increase my dose.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Zoloft 200mg is the maximum tolerable dose.Higher doses should be avoided. Non-pharmacological treatments such as self-care or psycho therapeutic approach can be done along with the drug. Discuss the possibilities of switching over to another group of antidepressants with your treating doctor.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
