Hi, I had a BHCG Quantitive test done and got my results. I need help interpreting it. I am only seeing my gynae next Tues. It reads: Test Result Flag Reference BHCG Quantitive 32057 0.0 - 3.0 IU/L What does this mean?
Hello and welcome to HCM, BHCG stands for beta human chorionic gonadotrophin. BHCG is raised during pregnancy. Besides pregnancy, it is raised in molar pregnancy, B HCG secreting tumors etc. The flagged test report suggests that the levels of BHCG is raised above its normal range. Thus, the above mentioned conditions have to be ruled out.
Consult your gynecologist with report for further management.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja P Wahal
