What Is The Meaning Of The Ultrasound Report Of The Liver?
my ultra sound showed liver appears homogeneous in echotexture.the liver measures 18.1 cm cephalocaudad dimensions.it demonstrates minimal increase in echogenicity which is uniform without focal abnormalitys.the portal and heptic veins are patent.then inferior vena cava is patent.i wanted to know what does this mean?
You have moderately enlarged liver(hepatomegaly)with mild fatty changes. It is confirmed by liver size which is 18.1 cm and minimal increased echogenicity. There is no other lesions in liver. Portal, hepatic veins and inferior vena cava is patent means it is open. You need few blood investigations like routine hemogram,RBS,LFT,RFT,Lipid profile. You should avoid saturated & trans fat,red meat, high fat containing milk products. Hope i have answered your query.
