I have gone through your query regarding swelling and burning in tongue after taking radioactive iodine.
I would like to tell you that swelling, ulceration and burning in mouth cavity is the known side effect of chemotherapy. These all are for a time being and will finish up after few days of completion of course. But if you are so much disturbed than you may do-
1- Antiseptic mouth wash.
2- Oral gel having antibiotic + anti fungal + Analgesic + Steroid. this type of gel may be applied locally over tongue and oral cavity.
I hope this will help you otherwise consult your oncologist.
Regards.
