What Is The Name Of The Test In Which A Tube Is Used To Examine The Stomach?

Hi.

I have been having trouble with vomiting. It starts with a stomach ache and belching.The belching stops but the pain in the stomach increases for several hours and ends when I vomit. This has happened several times during the past year. My doctor has me take 2 omeprazole/day. That medicine helps to control the vomiting.

My doctor wants me to have the test that puts a tube down my throat to examine my stomach but I don't remember what he called it. I want to search the internet for info on this procedure. thanks.

the test you are asking for is called endoscopy. it is a diagnostic test to know if you have a peptic ulcer disease and the cause . dont worry about it, its not a painful procedure, its routinely done in most hospitals.
