What Is The Necessity To Get Angiography Or Angioplasty Done?

Goodmorning Sir, my father (age 69) has been advised angiography in jodhpur. just wanted to know how the Doctor reached upon this conclusion, i mean if i send you copy of the ECGs then can you tell me that angiography- plasty is nessesary at this stage or not?

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

Angiography is the visualization of the blood supply to the heart. This is a method in which contrast is injected from the groin and the coronary arteries are evaluated. Angioplasty is an additional procedure done during angiography and this opens up the blocked blood vessels. Angiography is required if there are changes in ECG and that is confirmed by doing echocardiography. Please send your reports including echocardiography if you need an opinion.
