Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I would like an answer as to what a normal low blood sugar is suppose to be; the range so to speak? My husband just found out he has low blood sugar or hypoglycemia, when he got the equipment, no amounts were given so when he tried it the meter said 240 . His anxiety over all this is hard to take for me, I don t understand his irritability towards everything and everyone. Please give me a range. Thank you.
Hello dear I understand your concern Normal fasting blood sugar: 70-110 mg/dl Normal post meal sugar: The point of care equipment some time give false results due to improper calibration, incorrect method of use. I would suggest to go for laboratory blood test (fating blood sugar, Hb A1c) that detect the glucose by enzymatic method and it is more accurate. Avoid stress, take healthy diet, drink plenty of water and do regular exercise. Hope this may help you
