Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my hymen hole lenghth is about 1 inch and width is 1 fourth of a inch..i want to ask that is it norml ?..... i m 27 years old and never had sex or inserted any thing.....but i doubted that i have ruptured hymen which is shamefull inmy society.... m quite worried and want to know that can it be a normal hole size?
I can understand your concern. There is no standard size of hymen as it varies from woman to woman. It is a small tissue having opening of about the tip of the finger or a small tampon.
However, I am more concerned about your second question about broken hymen. It is myth that a woman is virgin only if her hymen is intact or she bleeds during her first sexual intercourse as many women do not have intact hymen since birth or it may have broken in childhood or by accident like during cycling etc.
If your husband raises a question regarding your integrity based on the intact hymen, you can take him to consult any doctor or gynecologist and this information will be repeated there.
I hope I could be of help to you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. Let us know if you have any further queries.
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
