Yesterday my husband office done medical test, in blood test report we found bilirubin. I am giving detail information are as follow.bilirubin photometry test 3.14 mg/blbilirubin Direct photometry test 0.46 mg/blbilirubin Indirect calculated 2.68 mg/bl<please reply me as soon as possible. <regards,<reshma
Direct bilirubin correlates with conjugated bilirubin but tends to overestimate actual conjugated bilirubin, as it includes both the conjugated bilirubin and bilirubin covalently bound to albumin (delta-bilirubin).
Indirect bilirubin correlates with unconjugated bilirubin but tends to underestimate unconjugated bilirubin, as a portion of the unconjugated bilirubin reacts with diazosulfanilic acid, producing azobilirubin, which is measured as direct bilirubin. The reference range of total bilirubin is 0.2-1.2 mg/dL. The reference range of direct bilirubin is 0.1-0.4 mg/dL.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Ivan R. Rommstein
