I recently had a blood test done by my doctor at about 5 hours after having breakfast and the results were good/normal my HDL lower than last year's test down to 27 from 34 etc...but the analysis gave Bilirubin total of 1.40 and Urea Nitrogen as 27 are these high or bad? ... maybe it was not enough time since breakfast for the test?
Hello and welcome to HCM,
HDL test is a part of lipid profile.
Lipid profile should be done after 12 hour fasting.
The total bilirubin and urea nitrogen level can be estimated without fasting situation.
Total bilirubin level should be between 0.3-1.0 mg/dl.
The total bilirubin level of 1.4 is increased value.
Urea nitrogen levels are between 8-20.
A value of 27 is also elevated.
These values have to be correlated clinically and with other liver function and kidney function tests.
Thanks and take care
