What Is The Opinion On Heavy Bleeding With Previous Ultrasound Showing Thickening Of Endometrial Lining?
I am 48 years old. I had heavy bleeding in the month of Nov for more than three weeks as I had not had my period for 3 months. The gynecologist got an ultrasound done. The endometric lining had thickened a little. She suggested a D and C. The O.T. was booked but the bleeding became light and stopped. Throughout the period I was on Trenaxa MF and Gyne cvp as one medicine alone was not of much help. I started bleeding heavily again after 10 days. The same medication was started and an ultrasound done which showed that the endometric lining and other parts of the uterus were fine. The radiologist and gynecologist were of the opinion that no D and C is required. The bleeding stopped in 3 days. Now again, I have started bleeding heavily after 20 days. I have started both the medicines. Please give your opinion.

What Is The Opinion On Heavy Bleeding With Previous Ultrasound Showing Thickening Of Endometrial Lining?
Hello, Your symptoms are likely due to endometrial hyperplasia. Endometrial biopsy is needed at this point and depending upon the biopsy results hormone therapy or surgery will be required. Please follow up with your OBGYN for the needed. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Lekshmi Rita Venugopal, General & Family Physician
