What Is The Pain And Sensitivity In My Wrist After An Internal Fix For RSD?

I was diagnosed with RSD 10 years ago following an internal fix of a fx to right wrist. the pain, sensitivity to touch and numbness and tingling continue. have seen 2 diff neurologists, one agreed with the rsd diagnosis and the other stated very minimal RSD symptoms. I seem to be out of options.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us,
I have studied your case with diligence.

Reflex sympathetic dystrophy is common after injury which can lead to hardness so you need to rule out it clinically.

I will advise to consult orthopaedic surgeon to assess for cause.
He will check clinically regarding any persistent infection. And some blood investigation may be required.

RDS needs prolonged multimodal treatment,
Tryptomer, and calcium channel blockers will help you.
If required sympathetic block can be done.
Do start and continue physiotherapy.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.

Wishing you good health.

Take care.
