Hi! Good morning. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.

You might have got a food poisoning and intestinal infection accidentally by consuming some kind of stale food, which might be harboring bacteria. Even though the vomiting stopped, the infection might be persisting in your intestines, which caused the present discomfort in your abdomen.

If I were your doctor, I would have prescribed a broad spectrum antibiotic against both aerobic and anaerobic bacteria and also against amoeba after a routine stool test for ova and cyst. I would also add a probiotic and a proton pump inhibitor drug to this. You would be advised not to eat food from outside which usually are not hygienically prepared.

I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.
Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. Wishing you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
